SATTB Scoring legend Marian Feasts - Motet general - Pub. Beauchamp (Finale)
Remarkably little of Donato's sacred music is available. This is a lovely little piece.
Ave Maria...O Mater Dei EMP1090 €2.00
SATTB Scoring legend General Use - Motet general ISMN M-2056-1090-6
One of several pieces from Donato's retrospective collection of 1599 which we are publishing for the International Academy of Sacred Music 2010 in Venice. This is a new edition of a piece we first published in 1993, and has become a firm favourite. The text is an unusual variant of the standard one, mainly found in Italian uses, whose liturgical function seems to have been following the Pater noster before the Office: it was also set by Merulo.
Derelinquat impius EMP0734 €2.00
SATTB Scoring legend Invocabit Sunday (1st Sunday in Lent) - Respond ISMN M-2056-0734-0
A setting of a text from Isaiah 55.
Emendemus in melius EMP1073 €3.50
SATTB Scoring legend Lent - Respond ISMN M-2056-1073-9
One of several pieces from Donato's retrospective collection of 1599 which we are publishing for the International Academy of Sacred Music in Venice. This is a setting of the Respond with the Venetian verse 'Peccavimus cum patribus' sung on the first Sunday of Lent.
Hei mihi Domine EMP1094 €2.00
SATTB Scoring legend Penitential - Motet general ISMN M-2056-1094-4
One of several pieces from Donato's retrospective collection of 1599 which we are publishing for the International Academy of Sacred Music 2010 in Venice. This is a settng of a short excerpt from the meditation on Psalm 51 (Miserere) by Savonarola.
Non turbetur cor vestrum EMP1074 €3.50
SAATTB Scoring legend Ascension - Respond ISMN M-2056-1074-6
One of several pieces from Donato's retrospective collection of 1599 which we are publishing for the International Academy of Sacred Music 2010 in Venice. This is a setting of a Respond sung on the Feast of the Ascension: Donato's setting has the repeat fully written out, with two parts swapping.
O bone Jesu EMP0737 €2.00
SAATTB Scoring legend ISMN M-2056-0737-1
A striking Counter-Reformation text which does not have a place in the liturgy.
O bone Jesu EMP0769 €2.00
SAATTB Scoring legend ISMN M-2056-0769-2
Alternative version at higher pitch.
Viri Galilaei EMP0643 €3.50
SATTBaB Scoring legend Ascension - Introitus ISMN M-2056-0643-5
A rather unusual setting including the Verse Cum intuerentur. Most settings provide only the 'antiphon' part of the Introit, this one includes the Verse as set in the liturgy of St. Mark's in Venice as well as in the Use of Sarum.
